How Can We Help?

This page covers the most common questions about using QuranMap. If you don't find what you need below, reach out to us directly and we'll get back to you.

Audio playback

Recitation audio won't play or keeps buffering

Check your internet connection and try reloading the page. Audio streams directly from our reciter data provider, so a slow or unstable connection is the most common cause of playback issues.

Can I keep listening while I browse other pages?

Yes. Playback continues in the persistent player bar at the bottom of the screen while you navigate to other surahs or reciters.

Why does a reciter have some surahs missing?

Not every reciter has recorded every surah. We only list the recitations that are actually available from our audio provider for that reciter.

Bookmarks and local storage

Where are my bookmarks and playlists stored?

Locally, in your browser's storage on this device only. We never upload them to a server, so they will not appear if you switch browsers or devices.

I cleared my browser data and lost my bookmarks

Because bookmarks and playlists live only in local browser storage, clearing site data, using private/incognito mode, or switching browsers will remove them. There is currently no account-based backup for this data.

Translations and content sources

Where does the Quran text and translation come from?

Arabic ayah text and translations are sourced from third-party Quran data providers. See our Content Sources and Licensing page for the full list of providers and how each is used.

Can I suggest a translation or reciter to add?

Yes — send us a message using the contact form below and we'll review it.
